Employment Opportunities

Phil’s Driving School has two part-time opportunities in the New Haven/East Haven area. We are seeking certified driving instructors licensed by the State of Connecticut. We will also train the right people for the job. 

• Must be able to work evenings and weekend hours

• Candidates must have excellent leadership and management skills

• Ability to effectively teach in-classroom and in-car settings is a must
• Must be a self-starter who can operate with minimal direct supervision

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain Driving School Instructor License throughout employment
• Effectively manage student driver case load
• Follow departmental guidelines and / or guidelines set forth by Department of Motor Vehicles
• Ensure each student driver completes required amount of classroom and on-road training
• Manage in-car and classroom training of teens and adults as needed

Requirements, Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain a Driving School Instructor License issued by the Connecticut DMV

• Capability to work in both a team and one-on-one setting
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written with professionalism to teens as well as adults
• Excellent driving record
